Florala Housing Authority is professionally managed by a Board of Directors and an Executive Director
The goal of the Florala Housing Authority is to provide drug free, crime free, decent, safe and sanitary housing for eligible families. We also aim to promote homeownership opportunities, self sufficiency and economic independence for residents.
Beverly Barber, Executive Director
Beverly Barber has served residents in public housing communities for nearly 30 years with her current full-time role as the Executive Director of Opp Housing Authority and Florala Housing Authority.
She is the past-President of both the Alabama Association of Housing and Redevelopment Authorities and the Alabama Public Housing Authorities Directors Association. She is a Board Member on the Alabama Housing Authorities Education Enrichment Board, and she is on the Executive Committee, Newsletter Committee and Scholarship Committee for the Southeastern Regional Council of National Association of Housing and Redevelopment. She is a Charter Member of the Gamma Alpha Xi Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., and also serves with the organization E.L.E.T.E. Professionals.
Beverly graduated Wallace College with an Associate Degree in Accounting. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Finance from Troy University, and is currently completing her Master of Science degree in Public Administration.
